Dr. Hui graudated from the University of Cambridge, U.K., in 1993. He received basic physician training in Internal Medicine in teaching hospitals in Leicester and Nottingham inEngland. In 1998, he returned toHong Kongand joined the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics in Prince of Wales Hospital to receive specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He bacame a fellow of the Hong Kong College of Physicians and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2002. In the same year, he won the Silver Medal for best dissertation by the Hong Kong College of Physicians. He was awarded a RGC grant in 2003 for his research on liver fibrosis in theChineseUniversityofHong Kong.

 

Dr. Hui took part in numerous research projects and has published over 60 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters. His main areas of research included peptic ulcer disease, colon cancer, liver fibrosis and treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C. He has been in private practice since 2005 and continued to take part in public education activities on chronic viral hepatitis. He has authored two popular Chinese books on chronic hepatitis B and common digestive diseases inHong Kongrespectively.
